Systems and layouts

How our machines go together into complete lines. Every operation is different; tell us about yours and we'll lay out a system for it.

System control panels

We design and build the control panels that tie a line together, so one operator can start, stop and run the whole system from one place.

  • Panels built for STILT.PRO systems: mixers, fillers, potting machines and conveyors run as one line
  • Panel building for other equipment, including other brands' machines and existing lines you want to bring under one control
  • Replacement and upgrade panels for older machines

Example: replacing a greenhouse soil line's controls

The new control panel enclosure: one door with a switch for each motor, start, stop and emergency stop
One door runs the whole line
The new soil line control panel: controller, breakers, motor starters and relays on one backplate
Inside: one controller, starters and breakers
Soil mixing and potting line layout
The line the new panel runs

A greenhouse soil line runs a bale gobbler, surge hopper, mix conveyor, fluffer, two fertilizer feeders, and incline and overhead conveyors feeding three potting machines. It was controlled from two panels dating to 2002, each with its own controller. Neither controller is made anymore, and neither program had a backup.

We replaced both with one new panel, built with all new components:

  • One Eaton easyE4 controller and one program, documented and backed up
  • Everything runs from one door: one switch per motor, one start, one stop, one emergency stop
  • When the line stops, the display names the motor that tripped
  • Hand mode is wired straight to the motor starters, so the crew can still run the line if the controller fails
  • The emergency stop drops every motor and is wired independently of the controller
  • Numbered wiring, a print inside the door, and a system handoff document that stays with the panel
